Dear Oklahoma High School Teacher:
The Oklahoma Securities Commission and the University of Oklahoma Outreach are pleased to offer an exceptional
opportunity for free professional development training through the Invest Ed® Teacher Institutes. The Teacher Institute is designed
to equip educators to teach investing for the long term, making sound financial choices, and raising securities fraud awareness.
Training in Invest Ed® STARS (Students Tracking and Researching the Stock Market), an online portfolio project, is included. The
State Department of Education recognizes Invest Ed® STARS as a resource for HB 1476. Invest Ed® STARS aligns with Oklahoma’s PASS
Standards.
We know you do impact futures, and this project offers you the opportunity to enhance that impact. The Institute is
for teachers of grades 9-12 who have not previously attended an Invest Ed® STARS workshop or Teacher Institute.
Two 4-day Institutes are scheduled.

Registration opens March 16, and seats go fast! If you are interested in attending, please complete the registration
form and submit it as soon as possible. Online registration is available effective March 16 at www.investedok.org / Teacher Institute
link. Seating is limited to 20 each Institute. Registrations will be accepted in the order received.
Teacher Institute Eligibility Requirements
- must teach grades 9-12 in Oklahoma
- must plan to continue teaching grades 9-12 in an Oklahoma secondary school or Technology Center
** Please do not register if you will not have a signed contract for the 09-10 school year.
- must have no previous Invest Ed® training—Saturday Workshop or Teacher Institute
- must plan to teach investment/financial education if not already doing so
Stipulations
- No more than 2 teachers from each school will be given a seat at the institute during primary registrations. Any additional registrations will be placed on the waiting list.
- Once you have been given a seat, you will have
one week to contact us and/or return the required W-9 form to confirm the seat. If we do not hear from you during that time, your name will be placed on the waiting list and the seat will be given away.
- Every Institute attendee must attend the entire institute in order to receive the full stipend. Our expectation is you will attend all four days. If you have to miss part of the Institute, please inform the Invest Ed® staff ASAP.
- If your employment status changes at any time, please notify the Invest Ed® staff immediately.
