The Oklahoma Securities Commission partners with the University of Oklahoma Television and Satellite (TVS)
Department to create a series of securities fraud documentaries and informational videos developed to educate Oklahomans on the methods
of securities fraud scams and securities fraud prevention. These powerful documentaries profile some of Oklahoma’s most recent
securities fraud cases; using eyewitness accounts, dramatizations and actual events as they occurred.
“Anatomy of Fraud – Catching a Con in Pottawatomie County”, is a 28 minute documentary that
exposes the intricate workings of a classic Ponzi scheme by profiling one of Oklahoma’s multimillion-dollar securities fraud cases
run by William “Bill” Hickman, Sr. of the Hickman Agency in Shawnee, Oklahoma. This documentary aired on OETA in April of 2004
and features actor Rex Lynn as narrator.
“Investor Protection Presentation” is an informational video detailing the Oklahoma Securities Commission, the
common types of investment fraud, how to protect yourself from investment fraud and scam artists, and what to do if you become the victim
of investment fraud.
“Anatomy of a Fraud: The Rogue Broker”: (2010) Subtitled the Mini Madoff, this second documentary in the
Invest Ed® series explores how Marsha Schubert transitioned from a once legitimate and successful stock broker in Crescent, Oklahoma
to a fraudulent Ponzi scam artist. Narrated by Rex Linn. 26 minutes (Available soon)
“Anatomy of a Fraud: Psychology of a Fraud”: Currently in pre-production, the new documentary dissects the anatomy of an investment
fraud through the mind-set of both the con artist and the victim. Includes case-related interviews with ODS staff, State Officials
and enforcement profilers. Narrated by Rex Linn. Projected release date: Summer 2011.
