STARS (Students Tracking and Researching the Stock Market) is a hands-on financial, investment, and fraud awareness education program for students grades 9-12.

The Summer Institute is a 2-day, free event sponsored by the Oklahoma Securities Commission and the Oklahoma Department of Securities. The STARS program is designed to promote financial education of your students and enhance existing curriculum. The STARS program teaches students to research investments, assess investment risk, set investment goals, and create and track online stock portfolios.

The Institute objectives include:

  • Promoting the importance of teaching the basics of savings and investing to high school students.
  • Introducing the Invest Ed® STARS program for implementation in the classroom.
  • Providing teachers with a broad knowledge of personal finance concepts.

The training is designed for teachers who are new to the STARS program and experienced STARS teachers.
