The two beginner workshops are June 15 and June 18, 2020. The objective of the beginner workshop is to introduce Oklahoma high school teachers to the STARS program. This program will train teachers in grades 9-12 to teach their students how to research investments, assess risk, set financial goals, create online stock portfolios, and avoid financial fraud. Benefits of attending include: instruction from Marquita Seifried, the STARS Program Manager, access to additional classroom resources and materials, and the opportunity to network with other educators.
The two advanced workshops are June 16 and June 19, 2020. The objective of the advanced workshop is to continue the training for teachers who have previously attended a STARS workshop. This program will provide additional resources to use in your classroom and will build on the STARS skills you have previously learned. Benefits of attending include: instruction from Matt Ingram, the STARS subject matter expert, access to new classroom resources and materials, and an opportunity to network with other educators.
The workshops are free. Teachers will receive a professional development certificate, breakfast, lunch, and free classroom materials for attending the training.
The training will be held at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Training Facility, 5307 NE 122nd Street, Oklahoma City, OK. The training facility is on the northeast corner of I-35 North and 122nd Street.
